Conversation Analysis of Jo Chale to Jaan Se Guzar Gaey: A Drama Serial from Pakistan Electronic Media

This investigation aimed to analyze the use of turn-takings, organization adjacency pairs that are practised in Pakistani drama. Drawing on framework presented by Young (2011), this research has provided insight into relationship between conversational and situational features which conversations were performed, figure out purpose operating a conversation specific situation, especially entertainment genre. For research, video samples taken from dramas, participants, specifically main characters, transcribed. The transcribed data was then organized divided chunks manually coded Adjacency pairs, turns, lexical devices, linguistic paralinguistic features, semantic pragmatic elements, contextual features. Based frequencies patterns choices, semantic, attitudes variations behaviours participants different settings contexts analyzed.
